Outsourscing Value

"Outsourcing Your Value"
One of the important lessons I have learned is the importance of not outsourcing or giving away more than what is expected. How do we own our worth in a reciprocal and balanced way in the workplace especially in a society that has confused “Worthiness” with “Net Worth.”
I see this playing out everywhere especially when some people have “demonized” money when it is just a tool because some people have more than others.
This creates a fascinating dynamic. Pedestaling, placing others above yourself because they have a perceived “higher power” however, all souls, all people are created equal.
Why I am writing about this, is built in, internal inferiority or superiority dynamics often are carried out everywhere in the job market. Some managers play the incredible hulk role, while others are shy and withheld.
Being in the fine dining restaurant industry for 29 years, I have worked along other servers, wine stewards, owners, and management that have this going on, I have also experienced within myself and that’s why this is important to me.
To know you are valuable and to treat yourself valuably and respecting yourself is often pushed to the side over someone else’s needs.
I have worked with many healthcare officials, nurses, psychiatrists even who will “hold it in” to take care of someone else first. These are dynamics that need to shift in my opinion.
One of the main things I do with my clients is teaching them the value of their own lives and how it is not equated to money, you can rest without guilt, you can schedule playtime, and remember your hobbies and to go pee first, because you matter too.
How are you going to give awesome service, show up to work and be of value if you are depleted?
How are you going to be the best leader if you aren’t able to balance your own life?
The paychecks are awesome, happiness is more awesome.
Using hypnotherapy to create new habits and routines with my clients has been the key…
Treat yourself like you are valuable and have that energy shine throughout the day.
Let me know if you related to this at all,
Have a blessed day,
Danny Picard
